Race #17 - Miller American 200The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour made their 17th stop of 1986 at the Riverhead Raceway, in Riverhead, New York, for the Miller American 200.
Tom Baldwin led the field to the green flag but it was Bill Park who got a run on the outside, who would lead the first laps around the quarter mile track as Park would hold command of the race for the first half of the race until the race's lone caution came out on Lap 58, losing the lead briefly to Ken Bouchard during pit stops. When the green flag came back out, Park would be challenged by Jimmy Spencer, who would the lead three times within the span of twenty laps before Spencer would pull away and would dominate the last half of the race, having to hold off a hard charging Ken Bouchard to score his first win in almost a year.
