ThorSport Racing Moving to Nationwide Ohio-based Craftsman Truck Series team ThorSport Racing announced this morning that the team will move its operations to the Nationwide Series for 2008 due to the impending closure of the Truck Series this season. Owner Duke Thorson said Matt Crafton will drive the #13 Menard's Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS full-time next season in the Nationwide Series. The team currently fields a truck for Crafton and rookie Willie Allen, who will be let go at the end of the season. During the press conference, Thorson told reporters that he and his wife Rhonda will continue to pay all employees who will not stay with the team until they can find another job, saying "NASCAR is a family sport and we've got to take care of our employees. This isn't a situation anybody wanted, but we're gonna make the best of it and help the ThorSport family the best way that we can". Crafton has never entered a race in the Nationwide Series and never won a Truck Series race, but does have 12 top 5s and 66 top 10s in 6 full seasons in the 3rd-tier series. (NASCAR.com) (3/26/07)
