Germain Racing to buy #7 team, sponsorship, points
Report coming out of the NASCAR Busch Series garage indicate that James Finch, owner of Phoenix Racing, has reached a secret handshake agreement with Bob Germain to sell away the #7 Geico team and points upon the conclusion of the 2007 season. Neither Finch nor Germain would confirm any agreement, both saying it was "pure speculation and attempts to start drama". However, a pit crew member for Finch's #7 team did say that the team was informed it would be transferred to Germain's ownership including owner points and the Geico sponsorship. Todd Bodine is expected to drive for the team, but it is unknown whether it will be full-time or part-time. (MRN.com) (3/26/07)
