Race 4: Cracker Barrel 500 @ AtlantaTop 5 Starters:#24-Jeff Gordon #31-Mike Skinner #88-Dale Jarrett #28-Ricky Rudd #5-Terry Labonte DNQ's:#66-Todd Bodine #85-Carl Long #92-Stacy Compton #50-Rick Mast 65 Laps/100.1 milesSummary:This race began with Jeff Gordon leading them down, but he ended having an unscheduled pit stop on the first lap, putting him out of contention. Jarrett led lap 1 but gave the lead away to Terry Labonte. Green flag pit stops came and went with Texas Terry continuing the lead (Rudd led 4 laps during the cycle). Rudd retired from the race on lap 43 with mechanical issues, meaning that Rudd had DNF'd 3 of the 4 races run this year. Terry led every lap until 4 to go when he had to make an unscheduled pit-stop while leading. This gave the lead to Jeremy Mayfield, who won by 0.5 seconds over Tony Stewart. Jeff Gordon finished 41st and Terry 39th. The rest of top 5 included Jerry Nadeau, Bobby Labonte, and Dale Earnhardt. 2001 R4 Atlanta.html (31.25 KB)
