#45 will be part-time in '08 In a conversation with NASCAR journalist Jeff Gluck Friday morning at Darlington Raceway, Richard Petty said that the #45 will only run in a part-time capacity in 2008. The move comes as a surprise, as Wells Fargo is willing to fund the full season, but with Kyle Petty leaving the driver's seat at season's end and limited options available, Petty said he wanted to focus more on one car with the introduction of the COT. "Dave is running better than last year so we want to really push to get him over the hump next season. I think right now the 45 program is taking a toll on the 43 and dragging it down 'cause we're barely qualifying for races and not getting anything R&D out of it." Petty did not name any candidates to run the 45 next season, and did not specify how often the 45 team would appear. (SBNation) (5/11/07)
