KURT BUSCH UPDATE:
After storming out of the infield care center after an angry interview, Kurt Busch was said to have a thumb injury. The doctors say there are early signs of a broken thumb. "He'll have to get checked at a better hospital in Charlotte tomorrow, and get some scans. If he does have a broken thumb, he might not be cleared to run the next couple weeks. He might be cleared still though. We will update you later."

"Man, what a night. We transferred through the fan vote coin toss. That shows how dedicated Aric's fans are. We survived all the accidents and gave Caterpillar a ton of exposure. Also, from running this, we have a lot more information to work with. Since it finished without a scratch, I think we'll be running this car again next week for the 600. All in all, a hectic night, but I think it's worth it." Sorry to disappoint you bud....you were part of the 10 car crash. You'll see the 22 right before it piles in when I post the screenshots. I don't want to sound like an ass, but you could probably list drivers involved in crashes better. That's, I think, the third time I never head Aric mentioned and think he finished well, then find out he finished way in the back, lol.

Bobby Ricky's (All-Star) Race Analysis:
With a million dollars on the line, you knew this night would be flooded with drama. It all started with the Nextel Open, with Ward Burton and JJ Yeley making it into the big show and Kyle Busch surprisingly being left out. Then we had Aric Almirola and Derrike Cope being deadlocked in the fan vote, and Almirola winning by coin toss. I must say that Bill Davis really went overboard with his campaign in getting his driver in the big show. Upon returning to my infield trailer after submitting my vote, I saw "Vote Almirola" posters all over my trailer. As someone who voted for Cope, seeing all those posters hit me with slight guilt, but I shook it off upon going to removing those posters from my trailer (which took nearly half an hour).
Finally, there was the big show itself. These drivers fought hard for the million, but there was only room for one millionaire tonight. Of course, the drama factor being past 11 resulted in what is without a doubt the most spectacular crash in All-Star race history. I fell out of my seat (and got Coca-Cola all over my favorite rug) when Yeley sent the 33 on a tumble. I'm glad Kurt was able to climb out on his own power, but who knows what this experience means for the rest of his season, especially with the broken thumb that he supposedly suffered.
Above all, it was quite a night. Congratulations to Ryan Newman and the Alltel team on their million-dollar triumph!
This has been Bobby Ricky's Race Analysis, which I guess is now a regular feature on here.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Interview: "We had a strong night, and well, our car wasn't fast enough to catch up with the leaders, so it was close, but we'll try to improve going to the 600."

Sorry to disappoint you bud....you were part of the 10 car crash. You'll see the 22 right before it piles in when I post the screenshots. I don't want to sound like an ass, but you could probably list drivers involved in crashes better. That's, I think, the third time I never head Aric mentioned and think he finished well, then find out he finished way in the back, lol. No offense taken, I appreciate the feedback. Something I've been toying with is at the end of the Results page adding a section that lists miscellaneous stuff like awards and X Caution for X Many Laps, similar to the bottom of this page: 2013 Ford 400 Race Results PDFI wouldn't do the lead changes simply because it would take far too long to put that together and would be confusing as hell when green flag pit stops happen, but if there's interest I'd certainly be amenable to adding that section. The reason I haven't been listing every car involved in crashes is because I try to make my Race Recaps like a press release, where the author may only list the notable drivers involved or the two drivers that caused the incident. As for the actual All-Star race though, Almirola actually did do well so your post is still valid. Considering he was slightly damaged, he still did pretty well and before all the wrecks he was getting pretty racy with guys like Kluever and Yeley that are on higher-funded teams.

KURT BUSCH UPDATE
Scans have been made and it seems as though Kurt Busch has done more than break his thumb. The scans show that Kurt has a broken arm that will take many weeks to heal. A replacement driver is going to be named soon, as the RCR organization are going through drivers to put in the seat. They may have a couple in the seat for scouting. When asked Kurt commented, "The things that having no brakes do...I'm sorry to Jack for my blowup last night. That was unneeded, and I was in pain. But now I am mad at that little piece of crap JJ Yeley. Holy crap I puked after those barrel rolls. I'm lucky I only have a broken arm. Yeah, a million dollars is on the line, but that doesn't mean you have to charge straight into the parked car. You gotta slow down, dude. I'm still pissed off. Hopefully my team can keep up without me...they haven't been keeping up with me *chuckles*. Hopefully it gets better when I get back into the car."

NASCAR Statements regarding Busch/Edwards incident NASCAR President Mike Helton told reporters in a media session this morning that no points penalties or fines will be issued to any member of Roush Racing, Richard Childress Racing, or Joe Gibbs Racing after a controversial incident in the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Race. Approaching the caution flag to end the third segment, RCR driver Kurt Busch spun leader Carl Edwards of Roush Racing, triggering a hard crash worsened when JGR's J.J. Yeley slammed Busch, sending him pinwheeling on his nose and upside down. The wreck sparked outcry among fans of both teams, with Roush fans and employees (including Jack Roush himself) criticizing Busch for racing so hard coming to a caution flag, and RCR fans and employees claiming Yeley made no attempt to avoid the skidding driver, who suffered a broken arm and thumb and will now miss several weeks of racing, effectively eliminating him from already-slim Chase hopes. "As we do with every race, point event or exhibition, we have thoroughly reviewed any and all incidents that occurred and do not find any issue with anything that was said or performed on track or off track," said Helton. "That being said, we have sat with each team and driver individually and we made sure we are on the same page and that we won't have any further incidents." (ESPN.com) (5/21/07)
