Hey all. This is a "mock season" I am doing. It contains real drivers, but it has alternate paint schemes created by the NR2003 community. Thanks to all who contribute alternate paint schemes, including the hard work put into sets by burtonbraves and DanAsher26. Other users that have contributed are David24, willjr3129, Sgt. Slaughter, among others. Thanks guys!
Now to the season. It follows the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. I am doing 20% races. It uses 45 real drivers that have schemes (I do have more, but they did not make Season 1). To determine the racers that do not make the field I use the Top 35 rule. I qualify them against each other and the 3 with slowest speeds do not make the field. Once 26 races are done, I will use the 2014 Chase system. I am using accurate 2013 ratings. Any other questions about it, let me know.
I have run the first 6 races. Here are the point standings: 1. 24 Jeff Gordon 227 2. 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 218 3. 20 Matt Kenseth 204 (3 Wins: Daytona, Phoenix, Las Vegas) 4. 18 Kyle Busch 202 (1 Win: Bristol) 5. 78 Martin Truex Jr. 200 6. 5 Kasey Kahne 186 (1 Win: Auto Club) 7. 22 Joey Logano 181 (1 Win: Martinsville) 8. 2 Brad Keselowski 180 9. 27 Paul Menard 177 10. 48 Jimmie Johnson 176 11. 66 Jeff Burton 171 12. 4 Kevin Harvick 162 13. 99 Carl Edwards 156 14. 3 Austin Dillon 151 15. 16 Greg Biffle 142 16. 9 Marcos Ambrose 141 17. 11 Denny Hamlin 138 18. 31 Ryan Newman 135 19. 13 Casey Mears 134 20. 55 Brian Vickers 130 21. 14 Tony Stewart 130 22. 41 Kurt Busch 130 23. 10 Danica Patrick 129 24. 33 Brian Scott 127 25. 21 Trevor Bayne 122 26. 43 Aric Almirola 118 27. 17 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 116 28. 35 Eric McClure 111 (5 Races) 29. 1 Jamie McMurray 107 30. 42 Kyle Larson 106 31. 38 David Gilliland 105 32. 15 Clint Bowyer 103 33. 47 AJ Allmendinger 101 34. 23 Alex Bowman 101 35. 51 Justin Allgaier 98 36. 34 David Ragan 88 37. 83 Ryan Truex 85 38. 32 Timmy Hill 78 (5 Races) 39. 95 Michael McDowell 73 (4 Races) 40. 26 Cole Whitt 73 (4 Races) 41. 98 Josh Wise 63 (4 Races) 42. 30 Parker Kligerman 56 43. 40 Landon Cassill 34 (3 Races) 44. 87 Joe Nemechek 30 (2 Races) 45. 92 Brian Keselowski 24 (1 Race)

Changes coming to next year: Any paint scheme accepted
Next year in the Alternate NASCAR Cup Series Season 2, any paint scheme can be used, as long as it's the same manufacturer and number as the team. This means that any paint schemes used in the 2013 or 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series can be used.

Another big rule change:
For Season 2 multiple drivers can be used in the same car. It is not yet determined if drivers can race in different car numbers or not.
Confirmed drivers returning to Season 2 #2 Brad Keselowski #3 Austin Dillon #4 Kevin Harvick #5 Kasey Kahne #11 Denny Hamlin #14 Tony Stewart #18 Kyle Busch #20 Matt Kenseth #22 Joey Logano #27 Paul Menard #31 Ryan Newman #41 Kurt Busch #42 Kyle Larson #43 Aric Almirola #47 AJ Allmendinger #48 Jimmie Johnson #55 Brian Vickers #78 Martin Truex Jr. #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Also a new rumor floating around: The Nationwide Series could be added for Season 2, and possibly The Trucks later on after that if the NNS has success.

Kevin Harvick has won the 11th race of the Season at Kansas. Next is All-Star Weekend.
RACE NEWS Jimmie Johnson blows engine, chance at win
Jimmie Johnson was supposed to be happy coming across the start/finish line at Kansas. The white flag was in the air. But he was frustrated. He had the lead. He was going towards his first win. But his engine went up in smoke, and so did his chance at winning. Johnson, a 6-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, has gone winless so far this year. He declined comment after the race.
