Today, Richard Petty, owner of Petty Enterprises, announced that as a way to help, Christian Fittipaldi will drive the #43 if it is secured in the top 30 of owners points. Andretti will drive the #44 in cases like this.
"I strongly believe that Christian has a great future in NASCAR", Petty said. "It's smashing to see three major families of motoring (Petty, Fittipaldi and Andretti) are on the same team, and even more successful".
If the #44 arrives the top 30 of owners championship, or #43 exit, the driver change is not made. The #45 will continue with the same driver (Kyle Petty) throughout the season.
