Bobby Ricky here again, all rested up and ready to give my take on the driver and owner standings!
For the driver standings...well, I actually don't have much to say except that it's no surprise that Brian Vickers and Casey Mears are still 1-2 in points despite crashing out of the Coke 600. Of course, they both better hope that this is the last time they run into Lady Luck's evil twin for a while, especially Mears. He may be the Daytona 500 champion, but Clint Bowyer is within striking distance of second place, and even the slightest possible mistake will likely be enough to knock Mears down 1 spot in points, maybe more!
As for owner standings, the #33 hasn't gone down in owner points, and I'm sure our bud Kurt Busch is proud of that! And yes, I know he has the past champion provisional thing to save his rear if his team were to be out of the top 35, but I'm certain that he'd rather not have to deal with that. And while I'm talking about the top 35 and the spots below them, let me now say that I hope Kasey Kahne's confidence isn't rattled by losing his guaranteed spot in qualifying. I don't see him DNQ'ing anytime soon, but if he doesn't find a way back into the top 35 ASAP, Ray Evernham is bound to be furious.
This has been Booby Ricky speaking. See you @ Dover!

RCR Recap:
Kevin and Clint both had great races, finishing 3rd and 4th. AJ did not see the 2 blown up, and it was one of those "spotters fault" calls. He could've been fine but he got racked after that. Jeff was involved in a wreck early on and is out. Clint is now 3rd in points though, and within striking distance of 2nd. Kevin is up to 11th, and Jeff is in 15th. We are happy to announce we are keeping AJ in the car for next week at the least.

Jack Roush post-race quote: What an amazing weekend. Getting a 1-2 finish is everything an owner can ask for, especially considering we had been on a slide the past few weeks. This is a great turnaround and for it to come in such a big race like this is incredible. Dover's a track we've historically had a lot of success at, so I'm hoping we can continue our sudden burst of momentum next week.
Matt Kenseth post-race quote: WOOOO!!!! Hell yeah!! I can't believe we won this race. We fought so hard all night long and the guys in the pits for the DeWalt Ford Fusion really battled and did great for us but I never thought we'd have a chance to win this. Kevin was just so strong man, he had like a 12 or 13 second lead on us in the middle of the race. But his strength was primarily on the long runs and we were better on the short runs, so I guess I'm gonna have to thank all those guys near the back that wrecked and caused all of those late cautions. Those are what gave us the opportunity to get in front of him and stay there. And Carl had a great race to and took 2nd, so I'm really happy to bring Jack a 1-2 finish.
Carl Edwards post-race quote: Tonight was a really fun night. Even though we clearly didn't have one of the top 2 cars, we were able to get a 1-2 finish for Jack and the Office Depot Fusion. I don't really know what happened to Kevin at the end. He had the best car for most of the race but that last run he really struggled and couldn't keep up with us, but I'm not gonna complain about getting in front of him. Matt was better than us for most of the night but when we were near him on track I think I really learned a lot from experimenting with the lines he was running so it was a good night for us.
Greg Biffle post-race quote: I don't like to criticize other Ford guys, but man, what the hell was Sadler thinkin' there? I mean, come on, where's the spotter there. I was clearly merging back on track and I was at the bottom of the backstretch and he just hooked us like his car was on autopilot. I don't know if it was just a lapse in judgment or what, but that really hurt our night and it's not helping us in the points any. I just don't feel like we're clicking right now. We've got to get some consistency in, this race wasn't good for us.
Todd Kluever post-race quote: Yeah, I'm alright. I'm just disappointed we were knocked out so early. As a rookie, the #1 goal is track time, and with a 600-mile race, I really needed to last to the end. I don't know why the 42 team felt compelled to take fuel only on lap 17 and get in front of a bunch of faster race cars, but it is what it is. I just wish I could've run the whole night to get the endurance thing down. Next year is gonna be like I'm a rookie having never completed 600 miles of a race.

Screenshots: Elliott Sadler leads the field to the green flag of the Coca-Cola 600. Evernham teammates Jason Leffler and Kasey Kahne spin off of turn 2 early. Kasey Kahne spins again, this time bouncing off the frontstretch wall. Todd Kluever gets spun in front of the field, as mayhem ensues. The bulk of the field piles into the lap 22 wreck, with multiple cars being forced upside down. A group of drivers tangle exiting turn 2. Sparks fly as Stephen Leicht and Ryan Newman slap the turn 3 wall. Greg Biffle skids after being sent into the wall by Elliott Sadler. Several drivers crash hard in turn 4 after Casey Mears' engine blows. Stephen Leicht and Kenny Wallace gently loop their cars through turn 3. A gaggle of drivers collide exiting turn 4 late in the race. Matt Kenseth escapes all of the incidents and holds off Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick to win the Coca-Cola 600.

DEI Statement; Despite this race being a wreckfest, we're very pleased with the results that our drivers pulled out, and we look ahead to the next weekend.
