7th Samsung/RadioShack 500:Welcome to the 7th edition of the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race held at Texas Motor Speedway. We have a cloudy day today with small chance of rain and high possibility of excitement on the track. In qualifying, Ricky Rudd was the pole position. The big surprises were the use of Past Champion provisional by Terry Labonte, and the DNQs of Jamie McMurray, Casey Mears and Mike Skinner. The start of the race came with Ricky Rudd doing a great advantage. The Texas Motor Speedway is a very fast track, but nevertheless can not let the cars always grouped. After much pressure from Johnny Benson and Jeff Gordon, Rudd was overtaken by second on lap 29. Gordon was leading with quiet until on lap 64, Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch hit the wall together. Both suffered extensive damage to the car, the second have to leave the race after an engine trouble. Came the first window of pit stops, and it drivers appeared on the front of the peloton (Buckshot Jones 7th and Mike Wallace 12th). On lap 69, the restart of the race occurred. Seven laps later, Rudd regains the lead and as is common in the second window of pit stops, lost the lead to Jimmie Johnson. In a horrible maneuver, he lost two positions on a turn and leadership goes to Ryan Newman, turning a few laps later for Rudd again. The third and last window of pit stops came. Rudd stopped, but an error when putting the right side tires claimed the victory. Ryan Newman came with mood to cross the finish line of the Samsung/RadioShack 500.
