XIIX Winston Open:Welcome the race that will set two of the 28 members who will be in the XIX The Winston: Winston Open. In it, 30 drivers will compete in 40 laps for two vacancies on the millionaire race. In qualifying, rookie Casey Mears made an impressive lap and dropped in front. But who gave the cards in the race was another Dodge. Not much was needed: before the first corner, Rusty Wallace has gone ahead of Mears. And it was consolidating its great advantage over all the grid. While Rusty was leading with two feet on the back, the race for second place and another vacancy was intense. Casey Mears came, until he lost the position to Jeremy Mayfield. Battled for one or two laps, nothing more. Gradually, Steve Park was coming and tried to pass. But all the effort was in vain. And behind Mayfield was being formed a squad with almost 10 cars. They could probably provide enough vacuum to pass the #19 until the end of the race... but it did not. Rusty Wallace won, and Mayfield was placed second. Both with honors. And a few minutes later the end of Winston Open, was reported that Dave Blaney won the fan vote and will be the 28th member of The Winston. Who will win this exciting battle for a million dollars?

XIX The Winston:For the first time in history, The Winston will reward it's winner with a million dollars. Who takes this award? Kurt Busch started in front among the 28 cars that participate in the main event. Does he take the win? Defending champion Ryan Newman? Or any upset? The race has barely begun and the only retire happened. Ricky Craven retired after breaking a header. And early on Kurt Busch showed up, making a great start to the race, jumping in front along with Ryan Newman. And so, the two were battling for first place and the grand prize. But Busch emerged victorious after a few laps. After half of the race, Kurt was expanding its advantage with cars slower than the leaders. And so it was, until the time of pit-stops. Michael Waltrip used a different strategy and then stopped, leaving with new tires to the end. After entering and leaving the pitlane, Kurt Busch took the lead. And Kurt was taking the car calmly to the end to win the million dollars. Waltrip finished second.
