NASCAR president Mike Helton announced on Friday last minute changes of qualifying system, which will be valid from the Coca-Cola 600.
"Before, we were doing a pre-qualification with those outside the top 30 and then made a general qualification. Now, that's over: everyone will make time on the same stage of qualifying and then the official line-up", said Helton.
Helton also said more about the new system:
"This will ensure better organization of qualification. The adoption of this new system has only happened thanks to an anonymous programmer who created a program called "NR2003 Save Editor" allows you to change the start positions."
