First of all, lemme just say that this race turned out better than the first attempt probably would've had the game not crashed...at least that's what I say.
Now, onto more important matters. *Puts on analyst glasses*
Bobby Ricky's Post-Race Analysis:
Michigan...boring? Who said that? Well, whoever it was, they got quite a show today, as did the rest of us.
Coming into those final laps, I thought Joe Nemechek had the advantage, but then Smoke catches a draft (which isn't easy when you're not at Daytona or Talladega) and ultimately finds his way to victory lane for the 4th time this season. Tony may be 6th in points as we leave Michigan, but at this rate, he may just have the points lead by the Chase!
And what a story was Travis Kvapil. One week after that terrible crash at Rockingham, he reunites with his 2006 form and finds a 3rd-place finish for his season. Time is running out for him to make the Chase, though. This means the 77 team will have to step up their game if they wanna make a return Chase appearance. Additional kudos to Todd Kluever and his 5th-place run. When the Tide Ride clocked in 8th starting position after qualifying, I figured Kluever would surprise us...and he did! Something tells me this won't be his only top-5 this season.
Oh, and let's not forget A.J. Allmendinger impressing us again in his duty as Kurt Busch's pinch driver. We still don't know when the '04 champ will be back, but as Allmendinger continues to impress, I start to feel more and more that RCR won't need to worry out if Kurt is ruled out for the rest of the season.
