Race #18 - Coke Zero 400
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series made their 18th stop of 2012 at the Daytona International Speedway, in Sparta, Kentucky, for the Coke Zero 400.
Brad Keselowski led the field to the green for the second time in 2012 and would lead the first twenty one laps around the two and a half mile track with the action staying intense for the entire event as battles for position and the lead happening nearly every single lap. Carl Edwards would dominate the race, leading 55 of the event's laps but just seconds away from taking the white flag, the event's second caution came out, setting up a Green, White, Checkered finish.
When the green flag dropped, Edwards was on defense over the final two laps, trying to block both the high and low lanes and would be successful the first lap, but coming down the backstretch, Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon hooked up and worked together to team up on Edwards's lone Ford and push past him coming out of Turn 3 with Burton pulling Gordon behind him with Gordon making a move in the tri-oval but wasn't fast enough with Burton scoring his first win in almost four years.
Other Noticeables: Jeff Burton scored his 1st win of the year, Burton led 4 times for 15 laps, including the final lap, It was the 22nd win of his career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and his first since 2008 at Charlotte; 131 races ago, Greg Biffle, who finished 17th, kept his points lead, leading Carl Edwards by 36 points

Contrary to popular belief, my mock season is not dead, merely was not my main focus, but I will do my best to upload more often since my schedule has cleared up a little more over the past few weeks.
