After another DNQ in Daytona, the National Guard decided to leave the car of Todd Bodine. It was the final blow that decreed the dissolution of BelCar Motorsports.
Thus ends here a trajectory that began in 1990, even as Travis Carter Enterprises, with Butch Miller behind the wheel. A rather difficult start, and the team peaked when Jimmy Spencer was the driver.
Spencer's departure also led the team good phase. The KMart, main sponsor of the team, has filed for bankruptcy, and this culminated in the departure of Joe Nemechek last year. Now, even with the merger with Sam Belnavis taken in early 2003, the team was not sustained and failed.
The team finished 2003 with 488 points in 8 races of Todd Bodine, and nothing of Hideo Fukuyama. No one knows the future of both in NASCAR.
