As a result of not only failing inspection and intentionally trying to damage the car, NASCAR stripped Gordon of the win (Placing him 20th, last car on the lead lap), awarding it to then runner-up Mayfield, and docking Gordon 17 points (15 from finishing position, 2 bonus points)
