From NASCAR.com:
As drivers pack up their equipment and head out across country to Auto Club, several drivers and news was reported after the Food City 500 at Bristol.
Kurt Busch: When Kurt walked into the media center he had a huge smile on his face, it was the sixth time he had one at Bristol and he also was the second person to bring Phoenix Racing to victory lane. "I've won at Bristol before with Jack Roush and I have to say this is one of the most dominating days in my life. Battling with Brad in the first 100 laps was amazing but the way we pulled away and led 400 of the 500 laps was just incredible and the energy Finch rented from Rick Hendrick certainly showed today."
James Finch: "I'm so proud of Kurt that we was able to score a win this early, there was a lot of high hopes but I don't think we ever thought winning would come, sure Top 5's but not a win. "A big smile appeared on Finch's face as he also announced big news "One of the things me and Kurt kept private was that if he could in fact win a race I would sign him to a contract that would last till the end of 2015, needless to say Phoenix Racing will have a permanent driver atleast until the end of that season" Mr. Finch also discussed that with the money won at Bristol, he was looking to expand back to a two-car team "I still have the '09' number in my name and I'm thinking that with the success so far of Kurt that we will be going back to being a two car team in the next coming weeks."
Joe Gibbs: As Joe Gibbs walked into the media center, the entire room went quiet and once he sat down the questions began as one reporter asked "What happened with Kyle Busch?" Joe took a moment and then replied "During the race Kyle said a comment that I give him...well junk to drive each and every week and that his cars are undriveable. We were able to adjust during the race and Kyle fought back to finish 14th which to him is a disappointment. After the race, NASCAR warned Kyle that he was to meet with them to talk about his actions and he left the track before any words was said. We here at Joe Gibbs Racing normally stand beside our drivers in this stuff but the way Kyle has been acting and his attitude is just about unacceptable anymore." When ask if any action would be taking Gibbs replied "We are a team, when he loses a race we all do, he made the sponsors look bad and made us look bad."
