Justin Allgaier running for ROTY with BER in '08 Braun-Edwards racing announced this afternoon that ARCA Racing Series star Justin Allgaier has been signed on as a full-time driver of the #38 Great Clips Toyota for the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. The 20-year old Illinois native competed in 21 of 23 ARCA events in 2006, earning a 10th place finish in series standings with 1 win, 6 top 5s, and 8 top 10s. Nicknamed "Little Gator", Allgaier replaces Jason Leffler, who will not return to Busch Series in 2008, preferring a full-time Cup Series ride. The Braun-Edwards team is in its first year of fielding Toyotas, and has immense manufacturer support from the Japanese manufacturer. Allgaier will be one of two full-time Nationwide Series teams, joining a host of drivers in the #10 ABF Freight Toyota. Bobby Hamilton Jr. currently drives the #34 Great Clips Toyota in the Cup Series, and Braun is looking to add a part-time Cup Series team in '08, with Allgaier possibly earning some seat time. "We are very pleased to bring an immensely talented driver like Justin into the BER family", said co-owner Todd Braun. "His career is on a fast track to success - his credentials rival Jeff Gordon's early career statistics. Sealing up a full-time seat like this early in the season is a big boost. With a change to Toyota, we've seen a lot of upheaval this past offseason and are looking at even more this coming season. We know that with support from Great Clips and Toyota Justin will have another successful season next year". (ESPN.com) (3/14/07).
