2008 Season Outlook
Though Paul Menard's rookie season was a slight debacle, with 9 DNQs and no top 10 finishes, there are reasons to hope for better results in 2007. For one, the team will be guaranteed a spot in the first 5 races, as the #19 won't return and relinquishes its top 35 spot to the #1. And, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is gone with all the distractions and conflict between him and team owner Teresa Earnhardt. That alone should allow Menard and crew chief Kevin Manion to improve their performance this season as they attempt to catch up with the #15 team. The #1 should definitely qualify for all the races this season, and one would be hard-pressed to believe they won't have one or two flashes of brilliance.
