2008 Season Outlook
How the mighty have fallen. Jamie McMurray and DEI, both strong contenders in 2003 and 2004, have become a permanent fixture around 30th place the past two season. McMurray, after winning in just his 2nd start and narrowly missing the Chase in 2004, has failed to post a top 5 the past 2 season as Chip Ganassi Racing fell dead in the water. DEI, meanwhile, has lost its touch on the restrictor plate tracks, and hasn't done much elsewhere, winless since 2005. McMurray and DEI both hope their union will ignite a spark in both parties and bring them back to previous successes. DEI is a step up from CGR for McMurray, so he should absolutely improve over just 2 top 10s in the past 2 seasons.
