2008 Season Outlook
J.J. Yeley returns to the #11 for his third season, after two underwhelming seasons. Last year he did showed marked improvement in the second half, however, and ended the year with 3 top 5s and 8 top 10s, compared to 0 and 2 in his rookie year. Yeley must cut down on the crashes, however, before he can become a Chase contender. But with JGR looking to be back on the upswing after a year and a half slump, Yeley could be a dark horse to contend for a Chase spot. What remains to be seen, however, is the impact that a switch to Toyota will have on this group. Toyota Racing Development has reportedly said in private that JGR will have the best resources of any Toyota team, but it's hard to project any improvement or regression at the moment.
