2008 Season Outlook
While Martin Truex Jr. didn't improve his points position from his rookie season to his sophomore campaign, he certainly increased his on-track presence, earning 1 more top 5 and 2 more top 10s along with improved consistency. He was bit by bad luck, having been caught in a number of incidents not of his making, but has earned the position of top dog at DEI. With the best resources now directed towards him and not the #8 car, Truex could take the next step and jump into the top 20 in points. But to do that, he'll have to quickly establish good rapport with new crew chief Doug Randolph.
