JRM to buy Yates' Busch operation at conclusion of '07
JR Motorsports has announced that they have reached an agreement with Robert Yates Racing to purchase the owner points from the #90 Ford Fusion team at the conclusion of this year's Busch Series season. Stephen Leicht currently drives for the team and is sponsored by Citi Financial, but Yates intends to either extend Leicht and move him up to the Sprint Cup Series or let him sign with another team. JR Motorsports is also buying the assets of Dale Earnhardt Incorporated's Busch Series teams, but none of those 3 teams is expected to receive a position in the top 30 of the owner standings. JRM plans to run 2 full-time teams in 2008; Brad Keselowski will drive the #88 NAVY Chevrolet, while a to-be-determined group of drivers will share the #83, which will take the points from the #90.
