2008 Season Outlook
The #17 Roush Racing Ford will again be one of the 4 full-time Roush entries in the Nationwide Series in 2008. Like the #6 and #16, a trio of drivers fills out the schedule for the #17, with a Cup driver filling the majority of races. Matt Kenseth will run for 22 races in the Arby's Ford, as he looks to increase his tremendous list of NNS accomplishments. In 222 races, Kenseth's racked up an astounding 151 top 10 finishes. Pierre Kuettel is a very knowledgeable engineer that will become the #17 crew chief, and both Kenseth and Kuettel should benefit from each other's expertises. Joining Kenseth are T.J. Bell and Andy Pilgrim. Bell is a relative unknown from Nevada, but has shown decent potential in the K&N Series and ran 16 Truck races last season for Roush. Pilgrim, meanwhile, is an accomplished British road racer who posted two 15th place finishes last season for JR Motorsports. Between Grand-Am and Le Mans, he has 12 victories, so he should bring a large amount of knowledge to the #17 team for the 4 road course races. Overall, the #17 team has quite a bit of talent, and it would be a shock if Kenseth didn't land at least one victory next season.
