2008 Season Outlook
The sudden burst of fresh new talent into Braun Edwards Racing began early in 2007 when the organization announced the signing of ARCA Racing Series driver Justin Allgaier. At the time, putting an untested rookie in the #38 Great Clips Toyota full-time seemed like a risky move, but Allgaier's 2007 ARCA campaign put those doubts to rest. After finishing 10th in points in 2006, Allgaier upped the ante this past season, moving up to 4th in the final points standings with 1 win, 4 top 5s, and 11 top 10s in 23 races. Fairly impressive, considering it was in family-owned equipment. Regardless, he impressed Todd Braun and Chris Edwards enough to land the full-time gig, and he immediately goes to the top of the Rookie of the Year contenders list. He's got tremendous upside, and the #38 Great Clips car has consistently performed the past few years no matter who was driving it, and that shouldn't change. While there will likely be moments of struggle, fans should expect Allgaier's rookie season to be one of success and improvement.
