2008 Season Outlook
Another single-car, poorly-funded Nationwide Series team is K Automotive. Owned predominantly by Brian and Bob Keselowski, the team will run Dodge Chargers after having completed a merger with Jimmy Means's Means Racing this offseason. 7 different drivers will take a shot at driving the car, including Keselowski who leads the way with 8 races. Means will be the crew chief for a team that has sponsorship for just half of the schedule, meaning start-and-parking is a possibility. Donnie Neuenberger and Patrick Sheltra, though, won't have to worry as they bring sponsorship from the Lymphoma Research Foundation and Ferguson Pipe Enterprises, respectively. Neuenberger has 7 races and Sheltra has 4. Meanwhile, Clay Rogers with 6 races, Joe Fox and Donny Lia with 4 apiece, and Johnny Chapman with 3 races all will have to be on duty for a potential early trip to the garage for this team. Overall though, regardless of sponsorship, this team has some major concerns. Chapman is the most experienced driver with 37 career starts, and he hasn't been in a race since 1998. The lack of funding and experience will force the #49 to have to grind deep just to make the races on Fridays, with the Saturday performance less of a concern at first.
