2008 Season Outlook
As Rusty Wallace Racing prepares to become one of the premier Honda teams in 2009, the team will undergo a transition season under the Ford banner. The organization will field the #66 full-time and the #64 part-time, while they prepare for it to become full-time in 2009 with extra Honda funding. Driving the #64 this season is Sean Caisse. He'll run just 6 races, but will likely get the bump up to full-time status starting in 2009. He's got 1 race under his belt in NNS, but has a very impressive K&N East Series resume. He's run the full schedule the past 3 years, with runner-up points finishes in '06 and '07. In 37 races, he has 7 wins, 16 top 5s, 23 top 10s, and 12 poles. He's an impressive short-tracker, which isn't a surprise considering he hails from short-track-rich New Hampshire. RWR, despite the flurry of manufacturer changes, usually has decent equipment, so Caisse will be in a good position to succeed starting in 2009. Still, the jump from K&N to NNS is pretty big, so it's not unexpected that Caisse will struggle a little bit in his first taste this year.
