2008 Season Outlook
The #88 U.S. Navy Chevy fielded by JR Motorsports will enter 2008 with the driver that finished up 2007 - Brad Keselowski. The 2nd-generation driver out of Michigan will pilot the team's sole full-time car while they gradually work their way to a multi-car organization. Keselowski hopes to build upon his limited success in 2007 with 5 top 10s in 27 races, and with the guidance of Tony Eury Sr., he likely will be able to start making progress. Last season, he began racing with Keith Coleman Racing, a team that ended up shutting down, and landed by midseason in the #88 car, where he flourished. He earned all 5 of his top 10s in the final 15 races of the season, suggesting that he is in position for a breakout season. The U.S. Navy again will fully fund this operation, and having Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his merchandise following as a team owner is certainly a benefit as well. Little E likes Kez, and Eury Sr. is a heck of a crew chief. A championship run is likely a longshot, but a visit or two to Victory Lane is certainly within the realm of possibility for the #88 team.
