2008 Season Outlook
The seemingly ageless Morgan Shepherd will continue to please NASCAR fans in 2008 as he intends on competing in over half the season by fielding his familiar #89 Dodge in the Nationwide Series. Faith Motorsports will run the entire 36-race schedule funded solely out of pocket by Shepherd, with minimal outside funding. Of course, that won't stop the fan favorite, as the car will feature the beloved "Racing With Jesus" logo each race. Shepherd, though, is not getting younger, and can't handle the full schedule, as testified by himself. He'll drive the car for 26 of 36 races, and brings on Jennifer Jo Cobb for the 3 superspeedway races, Ted Christopher for 3 short-track races, and Tom Hubert for the 4 road couse events. Obviously, the goal each weekend will be the just qualify for the race, as the team's poor funding doesn't allow them the ability to purchase stronger equipment. Finishing inside the top 25 will be a significant achievement, and it's one that fans will hope for as well. Don't expect a miracle out of this group though. It will likely be a long year full of struggles.
