BREAKING NEWS
Hoang Minh has been released from O'Shea Racing just before the start of the Daytona 125. Despite 2 victories last season, Minh struggled with consistency and finishing races. As a result, Hoang finished 17th in the championship standings. A spokesperson for O'Shea Racing said that the team will focus on the Truck Series competition, which will now begin in 2005. In addition, the spokesperson stated that the team will not run in the Cup Series for the 2004 season.
Hoang Minh on the release: "It's a shame that I was released from O'Shea Racing, however, that's how business goes now-a-days. I have been in contact with several other Cup teams and some newly formed Truck teams are interested in me as well. At this point, I hope I can get a ride and be back on the track as soon as possible.

It's been a long time since I have updated this thread. I have been busy with college and other things. As a result, I haven't had much time to work on this silly season. However, now that I have time before my next semester starts on Monday, here are the final standings for the 2004 season: Joey Haley was the 2004 champion by 87 points over the 2003 champion, Jake Balkan. Manuel Daskalos finished 3rd, 100 points behind 1st, rookie William Drake finished 4th, 118 points behind 1st and David Sweet rounded out the top 5, 335 points behind 1st. 19 year old William Drake won the inaugural Rookie of the Year Award, beating Keenan Whitfield by a mere 6 points. Andrew Watts finished 3rd, Thomas Brown finished 4th and Billy Thompson rounded out the top 5.
