Mosport was the host of race 6 for the CART Series. The series was trying an alternate aerodynamic package, designed to keep cars closer together, exclusively for this race. Teo Fabi was fastest in qualifying, grabbing his unprecedented 4th pole of the season. As soon as the race started Hurley Haywood set sail from the field and opened up a 5 second lead. Disaster struck the Haywood's #64 car when his camshaft expired on lap 26, forcing him to retire from the race. Phil Threshie took over the lead and would show the way until the first and only caution on lap 34. Steve Kinser and John Andretti tangled while battling for third and their cars took hard hits into a tire barrier. Both drivers were ok but their races were over. Phil Threshie held the lead after pit stops and was able to keep 2nd place Jack Fadden behind him for his first win of the year. Pole sitter Teo Fabi rounded out the podium with a solid third place run. Fabrizio Barbazza also had a strong run and recorded his first top 10 of the season, finishing tenth. Shown below is a pic of the Andretti/ Kinser accident.

Yikes! Good thing this isn't SRD. The mods would NEVER approve of a crash like that.

Dang what a wreck, even by NR2003 standards you'd be hospitalized.

A couple races have elapsed since last time, including Montreal (Winner: Chris Kneifel) and Watkins Glen (Winner: Danny Ongais). The Watkins Glen race featured Ongais and Kneifel battling it out for the last 40 laps before a lap car impeded Chris Kneifel's charge to the front on the final lap. Unwilling to move around the lap car of Fabrizio Barbozza, Kneifel slammed the lapper out of the way and into the wall. Rich Vogler finished third. Despite Ongais winning the race, Chris Kneifel maintains a slim 3- point lead in the standings. "The Series traveled to Nazareth Speedway for the first time in CART history for race 10. The race start time was delayed a couple of weeks due to 'improper racing conditions' (aka Nazareth Speedway 2004 is ) . TV crews and track officials worked tiredlessly to bring the track up to CART standards, including modifying pit road stalls, repaving asphalt, removing rumble strips, updating wall textures, and changing the angle of the local tv station 'KNBF 50's television cameras. The upgrades were nearing completion by the race's new start time of Sunday, February 7th, 1988. However, pit road was still under construction and the race is expected to be delayed another day. Stay tuned to KNBF 50 for updates regarding the CART 155 at Nazareth Speedway." -Press confrence from Nazareth, PA

Nazareth Speedway 2004 is You know what else sucks? It's the ONLY Nazareth track available for NR2003. There is the noonan conversion but that's even worse lol. If there's interest i can release my "1988 CART Version" when it's done, although it only has 33 stalls compared to a full 43
