Before offline leagues were banned from SimRacingDesign there were tons of offline leagues. Tons. It was a huge community and it seemed like there were new ones popping up all the time. I assume that this site was created so that people could post their offline leagues somewhere.
Now at first this site had tons of offline leagues that were active. But solely those leagues started to die out. Now I would say it's hypocritical of me to complain or make comment of the lack of offline leagues on this website because I have never created one. My original plan was to create one this February, but I'm so far behind on college that I've decided that that needs to be my only priority at this time in my life. That is more important. None the less I plan to post my league when summer vacation starts.
But that only counts for 2 people writing offline leagues on this site. And only one currently, and that is Oreius. I'm afraid that this site will eventually lose participation and close down. I believe the main problem here is that not enough people know about this site. I know that nr2003 offline leagues are still popular and still have a large community. SimRacingDesign was proof of that. So I believe that the problem lies in the fact that not enough people, (and especially the people from SimRacingDesign where there was such a large community) know about this website. I feel like if more people knew about this website, that it could be active again.
I know that LabonteFanBoy has the link of this website on his SimRacingDesign signature. Above the link it says something like "see if you can create your own NASCAR juggernaut". Now, that was a reference to when his offline league was around. But I don't feel like that was ever the proper way to advertise this website. I feel like if we want to advertise this website on SimRacingDesign, then we need to mention in our signatures that this is the website where there is a community for people to post and talk about nr2003 offline leagues. Obviously we can't post messages or advertise them because offline leagues are banned, but I don't see anything wrong in putting on our SimRacingDesign signatures that this is the place for people who like nr2003 offline leagues. Along with doing that, the reason why I created this thread was for us, as a community, to come together and come up with ideas on how we can get the word out about this website so it can become active again.
I don't want to see this website close.

I don't know what to say, John. I suppose someone here could PM labontefanboy on SRD to explain the situation to him, but even if he got the message, he likely wouldn't see any point in advertising this site until he's back from sabbatical.
Of course, seeing that this place didn't shut down when the sabbatical was announced, I don't see labontefanboy giving up on this place anytime soon.
To any SRD members here planning on contacting labontefanboy on SRD to explain the situation here to him, I strongly advise you to think long and hard before doing so, but if you decide to go through with it...just be prepared for what I described above.

To be honest, I don't really think i have a chance of ever getting NR2003, which is really sad for me since I've ALWAYS been jealous of all of these videos of people simming it.

You can get it for free on the internet. Do you want the link? --- I didn't mean paid advertising. I meant free advertising. Like posting on sites that have people that like nr2003 offline leagues and would be willing to join. And also putting the link to this website on our SimRacingDesign signature and telling people on our signature that this is the place to go if you want to post your offline leagues.

You guys can put a link to the site in your signatures on SRD if you want, so long as it isn't large/bright/colorful or distracting in any other way.
As for the future of the site, I'm strongly considering giving Administrator privileges to someone else on here who is more active. I'm starting my second semester of college soon and classes are going to be tougher (I'm studying chemical engineering, not a cakewalk lol). As much as I enjoyed doing my mock season real life has to come first and I just don't envision continuing it anytime soon. Depending on my summer plans I may come back to it but who knows what will happen in the next 4 months. But, it's clear to me that there's a small group of you guys that really like it so there's 0% chance of this forum closing (it's free anyway). Because of that I want someone who's active here to have full permissions to customize the forum and create sub-boards and all that jazz.

Brendan, I've went ahead and put an AD for this place in my SRD signature. However, I'm gonna go out and say this: If this plan fails to bring in someone who can do mock seasons as good as you, there's a 99.99% chance that I'll be leaving this place for good.
To my fellow NR2003 Mock Season members, I ask that you hear me out first. I am NOT saying that your mock season projects are total crap compared to labontefanboy's, I just find them to lack in quality when compared what Brendan was doing. I repeat, they're not horrible, just inferior. I apologize in advance to anyone offended by this post. I'm just saying that the "discontinuation" of Brendan's mock season has been a major inconvenience to me. As you all know, I'm the official analyst of Brendan's mock season project, but without races by him to analyze, I feel my purpose here is deflating pretty quick. I realize I've found something else to do here, which is comparing Oreius' real races to their real-life counterparts, but it's just not the same, and I'm not even limiting that duty to myself anymore, I've encouraged others to help me out so they have something to do when they don't have time for mock seasoning. In fact, without a lot of people with a lot of time for mock seasoning, I feel this place is truly starting to go downhill, and will eventually reach the bottom unless someone steps up to replicate Brendan's mock season style well enough to make this site worthy again. To those who, after reading this, plan to invite me to analyze their mock seasons, please don't. I had been planning to take my analyst "career" to a new level had Brendan's not gone on hiatus, like trying to set up interviews with drivers and owners, and I don't think those plans would work well with any of your projects.
To sum it all up, I'm not about to leave this place just yet. But unless someone steps up and makes me and my fellow mock seasonists (Another point, I'm sure there are people here who miss being owners in Brendan's project, and have possibly left because of it.) regain all of our faith in this place, it's bye-bye NR2003 Mock Season for me.

Not a lot of activity around here anymore, as others have noted. You can go for days without seeing new material (barring Oreius LOL keep it up). Hopefully we can pull some new members through SRD and such

It is the question of time for many people here.
Although I always come here when I can, unfortunately I do not have time to be simulating races in the game. I loved doing that 2003 mock season, but unfortunately had to stop.
There are forums on the internet with a part that is dedicated to mock season and off-line leagues.
But... it isn't the same thing to participate in or make a mock season on a specific forum about this theme.

I'm just saying that the "discontinuation" of Brendan's mock season has been a major inconvenience to me. Sorry that earning a degree has been a "major inconvenience" to you. Seriously, if doing a little bit of analysis on a fictional NR2003 league was such a high priority in your life you've gotta find some new hobbies. I did this stuff for fun in my spare time and when a few people enjoyed reading what I was doing I eventually made this forum to post about it and eventually decided to open it up to others to "own" a team. I had hoped I would be able to catch up to present day but never guaranteed that I would keep on going. So for those that enjoyed my mock season, yeah, I get that it's disappointing to not read it anymore, but life happens.

I wasn't trying to earn a degree, the analyst thing was just something I liked to do for fun; I'm not taking it as a drug or anything. Plus, I have indeed moved on to other things. The reason I said all that is because I'm disappointed at the downturn in activity here, it has NOTHING to do with my fictional analyst career. If you're mad at me for threatening to leave the site, then I'm sorry. I myself don't have time for mock seasons these days, and that's another reason I'm considering leaving this place. If I can't contribute much, what's the point of being here? If you don't want me to leave, then I won't leave. Maybe I'll delete that prolonged rant from above if you want me to.
