One week after NASCAR's demolition derby at Dover, drivers headed to the first trip of the season at the Pocono Raceway
At Dover, James Finch's Phoenix Racing team suffered a setback as his drivers finished 27th(Kurt Busch) and 34th(Matt DiBenedetto) with Kurt Busch being knocked out of the Top 12 in points, but barely holding onto a Wild Card Spot and the #09 entry still 40th in owner points. Coming into this event, Kurt Busch has two wins at Pocono and Finch has tapped Bill Elliott, who has 5 wins and over four hundred laps led in 48 starts at the track, as his driver of his #09 entry.
Another team owner that is looking for some more good runs is Robby Gordon, owner of Robby Gordon Motorsports. Due to several teams joining the cup series, Robby's team has struggled to maintain a steady season, having made 6 of 10 attempts and only 42nd in points. Entered this week will be Robby driving his normal #7 entry and Robby's second entry, fielded by P.J. Jones, who will have to make it on time.
Other noticeables: Turn One Racing, owned by Stacy Compton, continues to struggle as their car has failed to qualify for all nine attempts so far this season, Robert Yates Racing who has four wins at Pocono, with the last being in 2002 with Ricky Rudd, will be looking to continue their good run after Jason Leffler finished 11th at Dover
Here are the betting odds for the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks: Denny Hamlin:6-1 Jeff Gordon:6-1 Brad Keselowski:4-1 Kyle Busch:4-1 Kurt Busch:4-1 Bill Elliott:2-1
