JTG buys Haas' team, will run part-time
JTG Racing co-owner Tad Geschickter announced this morning from the team's facility that the 2-car Busch Series organization will run a part-time 3rd car in 2008, absorbing the current Carl A. Haas Motorsports organization. Haas runs one full-time car, the #14 driven by Kyle Krisiloff. Facing prospects of closing up shop due a lack of sponsorship, Haas said he was forced to look for other opportunities to stay afloat in the sport and that "Jodi and Tad provided me the best opportunity to continue to help run a Busch Series team". Haas declined to comment on the scope of his future involvement, but sources close to the negotiations indicated he would have approximately an ownership stake of 30% with the team and will oversee the #14 team's development. Krisiloff will remain with the team and run 6-9 races, in addition to JTG's Truck Series driver, Joey Clanton, who will run 5 races. Bush's Baked Beans, a longtime JTG supporter, will increase their presence with the team and serve as the primary sponsor for the team. (NASCAR.com) (4/30/07)
