Red Horse Racing buys McGill Motorsports Red Horse Racing officials Tom DeLoach and Jeff Hammond were on hand today at the RHR shop in Mooresville, North Carolina, to announce the purchase of McGill Motorsports. MGM previously field the #36 Big Lots! Dodge for Brent Sherman in the NASCAR Busch Series, but RHR has bought the team and will sell its equipment as it moves into the NASCAR Nationwide Series next season, leaving the soon-defunct NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Sherman will serve as the driver for the 10 races the team will participate in, and DeLoach said "the team is open to adding more races if a driver with sponsorship comes along". The team currently does not have a secure sponsor in place for 2008, but Hammond maintained that the re-numbered #71 Toyota will show up at a minimum of those 10 races and is not backing down from that. "If I have to pay our boys outta my own pockets, I'll do it", said the NASCAR on Fox reporter. "This is a team I care a great deal about, and I want the best for all of my guys and that's what we're gonna do". (FoxSports) (4/30/07)
