Race #6 - M.J. Sullivan 100
The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 6th stop of 1985 at the Waterford Speedbowl, in Waterford, Connecticut, for the M.J. Sullivan 100.
Mike McLaughlin led a field of twenty four drivers to the green as for the first time in series history, drivers raced on the 0.333 mile Waterford Speedbowl. McLaughlin was able to keep all challengers behind him for nearly all the laps up until the caution flags that would close up the field on his bumper. When the final caution came out McLaughlin would have to be on defense as he had to hold off a hard charging debuting Richie Gallup as McLaughlin would score his second win of the season by leading every single lap.
Other Noticeables: Mike McLaughlin scored his 2nd win of the year, McLaughlin led 1 time for 100 laps, which was every single lap, It was the 2nd win of his career in the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series and his first since Martinsville; 2 races ago, Richie Gallup(2nd), Dick Ceravolo(18th) and Vinny Annarummo(20th) made their NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series debuts, Mike McLaughlin, who finished 1st, became the new points leader, leading Richie Evans by 25 points

The field has finished qualifying for the 7th race of the season the Budweiser 150 at the New Egypt Speedway.
Corky Cookman won the pole, with a time of 16.951 seconds, beating Jimmy Spencer by 0.079 seconds.
Other Noticeables: Corky Cookman won his 1st pole of the year, Cookman won his 1st career pole in the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series in his 5th start, Mike McLaughlin, who will start 6th, has a 25 point lead over Richie Evans

Race #7 - Budweiser 150
The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 7th stop of 1985 at the New Egypt Speedway, in New Egypt, New Jersey, for the Budweiser 150.
Corky Cookman led a field of twenty two drivers to the green as for the second time in a month drivers raced at the quarter mile track in New Egypt as unlike the first event at the track, this race gave the fans a great showing. Cookman would lead the first five laps before George Kent would take over, those two drivers would swap the lead three times in the first forty laps before points leader Mike McLaughlin would take over on the 79th lap as he would lose the lead briefly around the hundred lap mark, but would take it back and from that point on no one had anything for McLaughlin, as he would go on to score his second win in a row as well as his series leading third win of 1985.
Other Noticeables: Mike McLaughlin scored his 3rd win of the year and second in a row, McLaughlin led 2 times for 70 laps, including the final 48 laps, It was the 3rd win of his career in the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series and his first since Waterford; 1 race ago, Thomas Michel(8th), Jerry Miller(13th) and Raymond Gastelu(14th) made their NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series debuts, Mike McLaughlin, who finished 1st, kept his points lead, leading Richie Evans by 80 points

Tom Forgione won the pole, with a time of 22.853 seconds, beating Jan Leaty by 0.021 seconds.

Race #8 - Meisenzahl / Firecracker 100
The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 8th stop of 1985 at the Spencer Speedway, in Williamson, New York, for the Meisenzahl / Firecracker 100.
Tom Forgione led a field of twenty six drivers to the green as for the first time in series history, drivers raced at the half mile Spencer Speedway. Forgione quickly would jump out to a commanding lead drivers struggled to stay on the track, causing three cautions to fly within the first half of the race as no one had anything for Forgione and it appeared he was on his way to a win, but a late race caution with less then five laps to go set up the first ever Green, White, Checkered in series history.
Getting a great jump on the outside, Richie Evans would make the pass for the lead on the Backstretch and would hold off a hard charging Forgione to pick up his third win of the season, and gaining nearly eighty points on points leading Mike McLaughlin.
Other Noticeables: Richie Evans scored his 3rd win of the year, Evans led 1 time for 2 laps, which were the final 2 laps, It was the 3rd win of his career in the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series and his first since New Egypt; 3 races ago, Tom Forgione(2nd), Don Pratt(11th), Randy Hedger(13th), Tim Mrowka(15th), Bill Carey(16th), Tony Jankowiak(17th), Chet Bennett(20th), Ron Williams(21st), Jim Crouch(22nd) and Daryl Lewis(26th) made their NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series debuts, Mike McLaughlin, who finished 19th, kept his points lead, leading Richie Evans by 6 points
