Hamlin to run full season with BDR in '08Bill Davis Racing and Denny Hamlin announced today that the Virginia-born driver will drive the #23 Toyota for the full 2008 Sprint Cup Series schedule. Hamlin, who is currently running for Cup Series Rookie of the Year with Phoenix Racing, will have 18 races of sponsorship from J.B. Hunt Transport Services and 18 races of sponsorship from Whirlpool. "This is a very exciting day for me as a driver," said Hamlin. "We all saw how well the #23 car performed back at Talladega, and I think that performance was what really allowed us to move through with this deal and get the necessary funding to run the whole schedule next year. I've been worried for a few weeks ever since I tentatively agree to run with BDR that we wouldn't have funding but that strong run by Benson really gave me a lot of confidence in this organization." Hamlin will reportedly run the full schedule in 2008 and 2009, and J.B. Hunt is sponsoring 18 races in both seasons. Whirlpool, however, has only agreed to fund 18 races of the 2008 season. Hamlin and team owner Bill Davis also revealed preliminary paint schemes for the 2008 season, noting, however, that the schemes were not finalized. (NASCAR.com) (5/7/07) ***Out of context-Credit for these gorgeous schemes go to thatoneshredder. Since they are just previews and not the official schemes, I only did a small render of them. Once they are official I'll post the full-size renders in the paint schemes forum.
