Championship 4 Preview
Jamie Gillihan
Arguably the best and most consistent driver all season Gillihan has racked up an incredible 6 wins on the season, including a win in all 3 playoff rounds so far. Many have Gillihan as the favorite for the championship. However the other driver you could argue has been the best all season might have something to say about that.
Natalia Maldonado
Maldonado has been the most consistent driver all season. When she's not winning she's running top 5, when she's not running top 5 she's running top 10. Maldonado has the most Top 5's, Top 10's, Poles, and Laps led among the Championship 4 drivers. She hasn't seen victory lane since the Round of 16 so if she doesn't find victory lane at Homestead she has to hope her consistency pays off again.
Grace Turner
Now onto the opposite of consistency we have Grace Turner. Turner dominated the early part of the season winning 3 of the first 9 races. However after that the 63 team has been mediocre at best she was consistent but a sub 20th place finish started to become not a shock for Turner. The struggles continued into the playoffs and she would rely on playoff points to make the Round of 8. With a surprise win at Texas, Turner was propelled into the Championship 4 with her first win since the 9th race of the season at Watkins Glen. Turner now has to put together the race of her life at Homestead as she can't rely on playoff points now the only question now is can she do it?
Starr Davis
Among the Championship 4 Davis has seen victory lane the least with only 2 wins on the season and none in the playoffs. However Davis flipped a switch in the Round of 8 with a 4th, 2nd, and 2nd in the three race span to make it in on points. While Davis has been consistent as of late, both of her 2nd place finishes came behind drivers who are also in the Championship 4. Davis now needs to find the perfect mix between consistency and winning to capture the title.
With that being said let me know who you have to win the Championship. The finale will be posted tomorrow, see you then!
