After NASCAR's second ever stop at the Kentucky Speedway, drivers arrived at the Daytona International Speedway for the event's second event of the season at the two and a half mile superspeedway.
At Kentucky, Matt DiBenedetto shocked the world by scoring his first career win in just his second start, the first win for team owner Curtis Key and The Motorsports Group. Entering Daytona both TMG cars are still outside the Top 36 in Owner Points, with DiBenedetto and Johnny Benson Jr. both entered to try and continue the momentum.
Kentucky turned out to be a disaster for James Finch's Phoenix Racing team with Kurt Busch finishing 41st after a early crash and Ryan Truex suffering mechanical problems 46 laps from the finish and finished 33rd. Entering Daytona, Busch has falling outside the Top 12 and is outside the Wild Card spot, as well as only having 19 more races to go to score a win or he would not receive a contract for another season to drive for Finch. This week Finch has Busch entered in the #51 while for their second entry, Finch has tabbed 1986 Daytona 500 Champion Geoffrey Bodine in a attempt to keep the car inside the Top 36 and maybe create some more magic.
Here are the betting odds for the Quaker State 400: Geoffrey Bodine-10-1 Jeff Gordon:6-1 Dale Earnhardt Jr.:6-1 Kyle Busch:3-1 Brad Keselowski:3-1 Denny Hamlin:2-1
