Race #1
The IROC Series made their 1st stop of 1988 at the Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
NASCAR star Bill Elliott led the field to the Green Flag and would lead the first lap as a field of only eleven drivers raced around the two and a half mile superspeedway as Roberto Guerrero had to miss this race due to suffering a broken foot during a practice crash. Elliott would use his past experience on the Superspeedways and kept all challengers behind him no matter what they tried to do to pass him, Elliott would lead every single lap and score his first IROC Series win by less then a car length.
