Yes, you read the title right. After much deliberation, I determined I didn't like how disjointed my main league had become, nor the direction it was going. Therefore, I have made the decision to reboot it.
In the new alternate history, a couple names will be changed:
* Andy Sammonds -> Tim Johnson
* Katie Sammonds -> Chloe Johnson
* Belle Johnson -> Belle Armstrong
* Kelly Walker -> Jenny Smith
* Steve Sammonds -> Sheldon Johnson
The new alternate history will start in 1987, with a few immediate changes, mainly Tim Richmond never getting AIDS and Benny Parsons being his teammate in the #35. Also, Pacific Coast Racing will no longer run GM vehicles, instead defiantly continuing to run the Dodge Mirada (and eventually the Chrysler LeBaron starting in 1989, continuing through to Dodge's big 2001 comeback, and then never leaving after 2012 since Dodge was able to keep PCR and Penske, plus lure Ganassi and Petty back in 2013). For 1987, the #02 Dodge Mirada will be driven by Dennis Malone, with Tim Johnson taking over in 1988.
Other changes to the timeline will include:
* Drivers who will live include Rob Moroso, Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Clifford Allison, Neil Bonnett, Casey Elliott, Chris Trickle, Kenny Irwin Jr., Adam Petty, and of course, Dale Earnhardt
* NASCAR will stay at Riverside (after the hostility of residents was ignored and they were told "suck it up, buttercup"), North Wilkesboro, and Rockingham, and the Cup Series will see new tracks such as Nazareth, Milwaukee Mile, Chicago Motor Speedway (being run on odd-numbered years, with Chicagoland Speedway run on even-numbered years), and any other track that catches my eye (Coca-Cola Superspeedway, Progressive Speedway, and Pikes Peak will definitely stay, and I'm considering eventually having midweek races, which would be run at smaller venues such as South Boston, Hickory, Thompson, Winchester, and Five Flags)
* These are the mods that will be used: Aero88 from 1987-88, Cup90 from 1989-99, Papy Cup from 2000-10, NWS11 from 2011-13, BR Gen 6 in 2014, Gen 6 2015 from 2015-16, MENCS17 in 2017, MENCS18 in 2018, MENCS19 in 2019, and NextGen4 in 2020-onward; the big difference is that there won't be a Car of Tomorrow, with the cars after 2010 being new bodies for the SAFER Car
* As mentioned, Dodge will NOT leave after 2012; their models will be the privateer Mirada run by PCR from 1987-88, Chrysler LeBaron run exclusively by PCR from 1989-99, Dodge Intrepid on a test basis with PCR in 2000, and full-time from 2001-2003, Dodge Stratus in 2004 (even though it was called the Intrepid, let's face it, the 2004 Dodge nose looked more like the Stratus), Dodge Charger from 2005-2010 and 2014-18, and Dodge Challenger from 2011-13 and 2019-onward; all other manufacturers will run the same models as in real-life (Buick will leave after 1991, Oldsmobile after 1992, and Pontiac after 2003, while Honda will enter in 2015, leave after 2016, and return in 2020 alongside newcomer Nissan)
* I'll try to make certain drivers not suck using NRatings, such as Trevor Bayne and Danica Patrick
I will try my damnedest to be more dilligent with this new timeline. Also, it won't affect the NSCA timeline, as I'll be doing these concurrently (I actually made a second install specifically for NSCA to keep things organized).
And on a final note, in case you didn't know, Sim Racing Design resurrected the Offline Leagues section (its closure was the very reason this forum was created). Henceforth, all material related to this timeline and NSCA will be posted over there (all material already posted here will remain).
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find tracks for 1987 (namely Richmond Fairgrounds).
