It's been a while. I'm redoing my 2001 season with even better ratings. I found when doing my mock seasons that many mid-pack drivers never had their chance up front at all, so it'd just be Harvick, Jeff Green, Biffle, and Buschwhackers dominating non-plate tracks even though IRL LaJoie, Johnson, Purvis, Keller, and others won hard-fought races against them and many others led large chunks of laps. (I may or may not have also lost the link to this forum in the middle of my last iteration of 2001...

Basically, I calculated ratings using the Masgrafx formula solely based on races where drivers didn't have issues of some sort (not done perfectly, but if there's a race or two that is missed it won't have a huge effect on ratings anyway). Consistency is edited based on how often drivers got into accidents (i.e. Jeff Burton's is unedited but Christian Elder and Lyndon Amick have consistency ratings of 0/0). But for this iteration, I'm editing the max chassis rating (which seems to have the biggest affect on most tracks) for practically all non-field fillers to match the top drivers. This will allow for more parity, especially for driver-oriented tracks, as well as more results like the aforementioned wins and the strong runs by Andy Santerre at New Hampshire, Hank Parker at Kansas, etc.

I'll still be racing for my old team with Sony sponsorship just like last time. I'm looking forward to sharing my results with everyone!

The entry lists for my mock season are going to be identical to those of the actual 2001 season. The 19 team shut down for good while the 45 was apparently a one-off that didn't run again. I'm not planning on doing any alternate reality stuff for 2001 at least (with the exception of me driving, of course). A combination of my lack of creativity and my willingness for realism

-Jason Keller wins his fifth career race after nearly starting in provisional land.
-Keller nearly was involved in the lap 1 wreck.
-Shane Hall finishes his first race of the year. He was also skillful in avoiding the lap 1 wreck, which would've been his fourth consecutive race crashed.
-Kevin Harvick failed to finish and relinquished the points lead to Jeff Green as a result.
-David Green and Elton Sawyer both had fatal mechanical problems that resulted in their third DNFs in four races, joining Shane Hall.
-Drivers making their first career starts: Carl Long.
-New team/driver combos: Carl Long (yet another driver for Jay Robinson), Brad Teague (Jimmy Means's primary driver).

-A very competitive and clean race allowed for plenty of passing, but ultimately Todd Bodine dominated and won.
-Jeff Green was the dominant car in the first run but fell off a bit after the caution.

-Kevin Harvick continues to slowly chip away at Jeff Green's early point lead.
