- 2002 EAS/GNS Live Well 300 Entry List Released: The official entry list for the 2002 EAS/GNS Live Well 300 at Daytona, has been released. A total of 47 teams have entered for this weekend's opening race at Daytona International Speedway. Here is the list down below.

- Pontiac Power: A couple of Chevrolet teams have shown up to Daytona this week with a Pontiac Grand Prix instead of a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The reason being is because the Pontiac Grand Prix has a body that provides an aerodynamic advantage when it comes to tracks such as Daytona and Talladega. Down below is a list of drivers who have shown up this week with Pontiacs instead of Chevrolets:

Smith#94 - Jeff Spraker On lap 1 out of 80, cup regulars, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Matt Kenseth lead the field to the start of the 2002 EAS/GNC Live Well 300 at Daytona. By lap 2, both Earnhardt Jr. and Kenseth were shuffled out of line towards the middle of the pack. Casey Mears would make a charge to the front of the field in a matter of a laps and would take the lead. Mears had a strong car as he was able to hold on the lead for five consecutive laps until he would get shuffled out of line towards the back of the pack.  On lap 14, the first caution of the day came out for an accident coming off of turn 4. In the very back of the pack, Bobby Hamilton Jr. tried to block Steadman Marlin and comes down across the nose of Marlin's #95 Keystone Light Ford. The two would slide back up the track and collect Chad Chaffin, Kerry Earnhardt, Casey Mears, Greg Biffle, David Green, and Jason Keller. Kerry Earnhardt almost flipped over as David Green plowed into the #12 car, wedging it between Biffle's #60 car. Casey Mears received a significant amount of damage as he was squeezed against the wall and the #25 and #16. Chaffin and Keller were able to continue on after the accident as they were able to make repairs to their cars. The rest of the cars involved in the wreck, retired from the race. All drivers involved were ok.    Pit stops would begin on lap 16. The whole entire field would duck down onto pit road for either two or four tires and some fuel. Scott Wimmer would win the race off of pit road and would lead the field to the restart.  Mike McLaughlin sustained front end damage under caution as he ran into the back of a car during the pit cycle. After everyone had been serviced on pit road, the #18 car of McLaughlin went back down to fix the damage. He would come back out before the restart and would end up riding around until lap 27. At the start/finish line, the field caught up to the slow #18 car and tried to maneuver around him. Unfortunately, Lyndon Amick would get into McLaughlin and turns him into the wall in front of the field at the entrance of turn 1. Tire smoke from the spinning #18 car, would ultimately blind the field. To make matters worse, Hendrick Motorsports teammates, Ricky Hendrick and Jack Sprague would collide and go into the wall. Sprague would end up spinning down to the bottom of the track causing everyone to dart out of the way. Jeff Fultz in the #86 car, would make contact with the #24. Then, the #54 of Kelly Denton and the #14 of Larry Foyt come barreling in at the last second and slam into Jack Sprague, whose car would nearly get up on its side, bouncing around from the transitioning of the banking. All of the drivers that were involved in the crash were ok as some were just shaken up from the impacts. A lot of cars were torn up in this big crash.    A couple of cars would come down pit road on lap 29 as Jeff Fuller in the #88 would win the race off of pit road. Fuller would lead the field to the restart with the #46 of Ashton Lewis and the #26 of Lyndon Amick on his inside both a lap down from making minor repairs on pit road. Both the #46 and #26 were able to maintain a normal pace with the pack. The most wildest wreck and final caution of the race would take place on lap 37. Kenny Wallace, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Randy LaJoie, and Christian Elder, were four wide coming off of turn 2 and make contact. LaJoie and Elder both go up and into the wall, causing the #7 to ride the wall and the #38 to ride with the roof of the car up against the wall. Kenny Wallace's #48 car would jump over the hood of Earnhardt Jr.'s car. Surprisingly, the #48 did not go over as the air was not strong enough to pick it up and over completely. Jeff Fuller would have most likely pushed Wallace's car up and over if he had not barely avoided Kenny Wallace's car while it's right side was off the ground. Randy LaJoie's car rode the wall for a few feet and then tipped back onto all four tires. Christian Elder on the other hand, started tumbling down the backstretch at least seven or eight times. Elder's car would come to rest on all four tires a few feet away from the grass. Kenny Wallace was able to continue on as he suffered minor side damage and surprisingly no suspension damage from slamming back on the ground. The others all walked away from the crash with no injuries but just shaken up.   Some cars would make their way down pit road for pit stops as Chad Little and others stay out. Chad Little would lead the field to the restart on lap 42. The race would go caution free the rest of the way. On lap 57, green flag pit stops would occur, causing the pack to spread out. They would all eventually regroup due to lap traffic. Out of nowhere, the leaders would come down pit road with 9 laps to go on lap 71. The leaders would battle out until the final lap as they caught some more lap traffic. It would be Jeff Purvis in the #37 for Brewco Motorsports getting the win at Daytona! 2002 EAS/GNC Live Well 300 at Daytona Results
