Beer & Candy? RYR says "Yes" While most NASCAR fans think of eating a juicy hot dog and some crispy potato chips with their Sunday afternoon beer at the racetrack, Robert Yates Racing has something completely different in mind. Robert Yates announced this morning that Elliott Sadler's #38 Ford Fusion will have split sponsorship next season from Budweiser and current sponsor M&M's. The latest introduction of a split season sponsorship due to economic strain features two iconic American brands partnering together, and reports indicate that both companies will look to cooperate on new promotion efforts. In regards to the NASCAR sponsorship, each company will have their brand featured on the hood of the #38 for 18 races, although Budweiser will remain with RYR through 2011, one year longer than M&M's. "I'm really excited to become the new face of Budweiser but still remain the face of M&M's", said Sadler. "These are two products that I consume on a daily basis, and honestly I don't really care whether or not it's good for my health. They're still 2 damn good products." At the announcement, Yates also told reporters he wouldn't field the #90 or any other part-time team in 2008. (ESPN.com) (5/16/07)
