BDR signs Silas Bill Davis Racing owners Bill and Gail Davis announced this morning that they have signed Craftsman Truck Series driver Brian Silas to a development deal to run 3-5 races in the #93 Toyota next season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Davis bought the assets of Keith Coleman Racing when the team shut down earlier this season, and plans to run one full-time Toyota and another part-time Toyota next season. Veterans Johnny Benson and Mike Skinner will pilot the #23, with Skinner taking the NNS standalone races while Benson will run the companion races. Skinner is also scheduled to run the #93 at Daytona in the season-opener, handing over the reigns to Silas from that point on. "We're excited to bring Brian in this year," said Davis. "He's a really talented driver and while he's only gonna have a handful of races to prove himself, we're confident that he will show us enough that we can keep him here in the long term." "I really want to thank Mr. Davis for reaching out to me and offering me a deal," said Silas. "People can say, yeah, it's only 3-5 races in a car without any sponsorship yet, but the key for me is that it's a ride. I'm a racer, and I will race anything I can in order to keep my name in the sport". When asked how many races the #93 car would run, Davis did not give a definite answer, saying his team was still looking at evaluating other potential drivers to add to the roster.
