Fox Sports announces 2008 Bracket Challenge As if the NCAA March Madness didn't already give enough of a challenge when it comes to filling out a perfect bracket, Fox Sports came up with a follow up. Following the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament, Fox Sports announced that the 2008 Bracket Challenge of NASCAR will be held. Following the 6th race of the season at Martinsville Speedway, the top 32 drivers in Cup Series points will be placed in a bracket. Starting with the Samsung 500 and at each race from that point on, drivers will face off in a head-to-head matchup, eventually narrowing the field down to the final 2 drivers at Darlington. The rules are simple: whoever finishes higher advances. The round of 32 will take place at Texas, the round of 16 at Phoenix, the round of 8 at Talladega, the round of 4 at Richmond, and the culmination will take place at Darlington. The prize? A donation of $100,000 to a charity of the winner's choice. In addition, fans will be allowed to fill out a bracket. Any fans with a winning bracket will take home a $10,000 prize. The winner of the event will then also run a special paint scheme during the All-Star Weekend, honoring the charity that will receive the donation. (FoxSports) (6/28/07)

I think it'll be fun too, I just wish I actually had $10,000 to give away!

The winner should get something special. Like maybe picking a race or two on the schedule next year.

I think the user who owns the driver of the winner of the bracket (or if they themselves picked a perfect bracket) then they should get some sort of team bonus. That way we have some sort of actual prize.

Interesting ideas. I'll definitely consider both of them.

Will the drivers be seeded by points position, or will the bracket be made using a random draw?

Points position. 1 vs 32, 2 vs 31, 3 vs 30, etc.
