Kurt Busch returning at Daytona After a long absence from the car leading to 6 missed races, Kurt Busch will finally return to the seat of the #33 Monster Energy Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway for the Pepsi 400. Busch has been sidelined with a broken arm and broken thumb since a violent crash at the All-Star Race, when he and leader Carl Edwards crashed, and Busch was struck violently in the driver's door by J.J. Yeley. "I'm super excited to be back behind the wheel of the Monster Energy car for RCR," said Busch. "Obviously, getting injured in a non-points race really was unfortunate and derailed our season just as we were starting to head in the right direction, but I think we still can get the 33 team involved in the Owner's championship and we certainly have the ability to contend for more wins as the season goes on." Through the first 11 races of the season, Busch had struggled in his first season with RCR aside from a victory at Atlanta. He ranked 24th in the points standings with just 1 top 5 and 2 top 10s, and had earned his first pole of the season in his last race at Darlington. In the 6 races since, A.J. Allmendinger and German Quiroga Jr. have filled in for Busch, who has slid to 36th in the standings, but the two replacements have raised the 33 car to 19th in the owner's standings.
