Wimmer and Marlin to share #09 Scott Wimmer and the soon-to-be un-retired Sterling Marlin will share driving duties for the #09 Miccosukee Resorts Chevy in 2008, announced team owner James Finch. Wimmer, who is also driving the #1 Miccosukee Resorts Chevy for Finch's Nationwide Series team full-time, will drive in all of the companion races, while Marlin will take over in all races located at a different venue than the Nationwide Series. Wimmer currently drives part-time with Rusty Wallace Racing in the Nextel Cup Series this season, ranking 60th in points after competing in 1 of 18 races. Marlin, however, has not raced since the end of the 2005 season, when he finished 31st in points with 2 top 10s in 36 races, driving for Chip Ganassi Racing. "I'm looking forward to trying one of these new COT cars," said the Tennessean. "Racing was my life and it was my father's life, and I'd like to do a little bit more of it. I got that itch and I can't help myself." Phoenix Racing is currently 44th in owners points after qualifying for just 7 of 18 races this season with rookie Denny Hamlin behind the wheel. Hamlin will drive for Bill Davis Racing in 2008. (FoxSports.com) (7/9/07)
