It is with great regret that I must announce that, due to continuing computer troubles messing with my motivation to do mock seasons, I am officially retiring from mock seasoning altogether.
I thought my motivation to do mock seasons was back when I had the idea for NIROC, but now that it has become clear that constant computer troubles are going to keep getting in the way of things. I have decided that the best thing to do in this situation would be to just step down from doing mock seasons altogether and focus solely on my career as analyst for labontefanboy's mock season project, and other things I have on my mind. I'm sorry to disappoint, but there's no way I can juggle a mock season career and frequent computer issues with the same two hands. I mean, if I try to finish NIROC with a computer that feels like having problems at least once a week, I may end up banging my head against the wall in a rage of insanity.
Okay, this may not be a true retirement, I may change my mind and get back to mock seasoning if I regain confidence in being able to do mock seasons without anything to wreck my motivation, but for now, my focus is to end this war with constant computer calamities, and I have a feeling that'll take quite sometime.
Thank you for understanding.

What is your computer doing? Let me put it like this: 10 days after my computer got back from its six-week vacation, It suddenly froze during use, then when I tried to reset it, it has trouble booting and eventually goes into automatic repair mode...which does nothing but wreck the hard disk drive again. So I have the computer taken back for more service, and this past Wednesday, I received a rental computer from Rent-A-Center, which will be around for for two weeks. On Friday, however, my main computer returns from service (again), and it gets hooked up the next night. I looked to be fixed, but yesterday morning saw me run into more freezing problems. My computer's still in the house, but my dad will be spending the next few days running tests with it to see what the problems could be...and what I should do to avoid trouble in the future. I'm not sure when I'll be back on my main computer, but can say that I'm still keeping my mock season career on hold until I'm 100% confident that I can run a season without computer problems getting in the way on a regular basis. My family's been thinking about getting a new computer altogether, but my dad's insistent on running tests with the current computer first. That's all I can say for now. Hopefully, I did a good job clarifying my problems, despite my lack of technological know-how. I'll have further updates as the days pass. Stay tuned.

It sounds like a virus, but it could be that the computer can't handle the game.... What're your specs?

I don't think it's a virus, but you could be right about the computer not being able to handle the game. I'll have to ask my dad about the specs when he does more testing with my computer later tonight. Once I get the information from him, it'll be edited into this post.
EDIT: Okay, here's the specs: Processor: Inter(R) Celeron (R) CPU G1620T @ 2.40GHz, 2.40GHz Installed Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.89 usable) System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-bit processor
Also, the computer runs on Windows 8, and I haven't had any problems running NR2002 on it most of the time.

LATEST UPDATE:
While being tested last night, my computer suddenly found itself unable to boot up without a backup booting device...which I don't have. This has proven to be the final straw for my dad, who's now planning on returning the computer and getting a refund the first chance he gets. With that, I think it's safe to say that I'll be getting a new computer once my time with this rental computer is up.

I have learned that my new computer is ready to come home, and will be picked up by my father tomorrow. Once it gets here, I'll be able to continue NIROC. Yes, you read that correctly. Over the course of the past week, I was having second thoughts about my decision to step away from mock seasoning, and I've ultimately decided that I don't wanna let the folks of NR2003 Mock Season down twice. Thus, I will be re-greenlighting the New International Race of Champions once my new computer arrives, and I plan on finishing the season and not letting anything stop me. So if more computer troubles spring up before I finish the season, I'll just wait until everything is resolved before pressing on. That applies to all my future mock season projects as well. What I'm basically saying here is that quitting mock seasoning because of a simple computer problem seemed a bit premature now that I think about it, and I probably shouldn't have done it in the past. If something gets the way of a mock season I'm in the middle of, quitting will no longer be an option. Instead, I'll deal with whatever's in my way, then get back to my season once everything's in order. I like doing these mock seasons, and I know you guys like reading about them, so I'm gonna keep doing them!
With all that said, expect race 4 of NIROC I to be up tomorrow!

Actually, the restart of NIROC will have wait a little longer. And for good reason: The people responsible my new computer forgot to put all my data on it before they were scheduled to hand it over to my father earlier today. I don't have a timetable for the computer's arrival just yet, but hopefully I'll only have to wait another day or two. My apologies to those who were looking forward to Round 4 of NIROC I today, but if all goes well, your extended wait at least won't be too much longer.
