Stanton Barrett Racing expands schedule Stanton Barrett released a statement on his website that reads: "I'd like to thank all my fans for their continued loyalty. We've got a wrecked racecar back at the shop, but we made the race. That's a big accomplishment. With the Brickyard being such a big-money event and the fact that we've got a little bit more associate sponsorship coming later this season, we are able to announce that we will run the 95 in 16 races in 2008, doubling this year's schedule. I'll likely run 6 points races and a non-points event, and I've already got Ted Christopher to run the Martinsville races. Alex Tagliani will be back to attempt Montreal once again as well. Beyond that, we are still looking at potential driver candidates and will update fans shortly. We are always looking for more funding. Send any potential funding offers as soon as possible. Thanks again for your support." (Stanton Barrett Racing Press Release) (8/2/07)

In addition to having gained partial sponsorship from Tootsie for Bristol and Homestead of this season, he will have Hormel on the hood of his Daytona 500 car next season, Denny's on the hood for next year's Bristol race, and sponsorship from YRC Worldwide for Gateway and Kansas. Barrett, however, will not be driving for all of those races. In addition to the already announced starts from Alex Tagliani and Ted Christopher, Boston Reid, Bryan Reffner, and Brandon Whitt will all have a shot in the 95 car next season. But more importantly for Barrett, "We got enough funding to run a 2nd car for the plate tracks". Chris Fontaine has been signed to run the Daytona 500 and Amp Energy 500 in a #59 Chevy Impala for Stanton Barrett Racing. The team is still looking for more corporate partners, and hopes to increase its presence with a strong run at BMS this weekend. (Motorsport.com) (8/23/07)
